$100 Million Gift Means More Scholarship Opportunities At WLU

The Washington and Lee University announced that they received $100 Million gift from a generous donor who requested to remain anonymous for the time being. The said gift to WLU is said to be the largest in the 258-year-old school’s history and one of the largest ever received by a liberal arts college.

Kenneth Ruscio, the president of Washington and Lee University proudly revealed that the $100 M gift is planned to create a new scholarship program which will become the signature feature of the university in drawing students with outstanding academic performance regardless of their ability to afford tuition and other expenses

The said money will likewise be allotted to establish two new professorships in the College of Arts and Sciences and in W&L’s Williams School of Commerce, Economics, and Politics to help teach leadership and entrepreneurship. Upcoming students of the university will surely benefit from these outstanding teacher-scholars, the courses they develop and the scholarship they produce.
