Yes, there is an ongoing scholarship opportunity from OPEC Fund for International Development that is open for undergraduate students who are nationals of developing countries. And the at stake scholarship money is huge: $100,000 that student can use toward the completion of a Master’s degree or its equivalent at any accredited educational institution of his/her choice by academic year 2009 – 2010.
The $100,000 will be disbursed over a period of two years for paying the tuition fees, any supplementary examination fees, health insurance, and monthly stipend for living expenses, books and accommodation. The scholarship fund will also cover the relocation grant of student during the first year of master’s studies, travel expenditures from the scholar’s place of residence to the nearest airport of the scholar’s chosen place of study and of course, the cost of one-way air ticket to the scholar’s home country after the completion of master’s degree.
But because this program involves a huge scholarship fund, grabbing it is not really easy because applicants must be highly driven and motivated because they must select a subject of study that pertains to OFID’s core mission that includes economics of development (poverty reduction, energy and sustainable development), environment (desertification), or other related science and technology fields.
If you think you can take this challenge that can help you complete a Master’s degree in the future, then you must complete the online application form and submit the required essay and all other information or documents for this scholarship program. Just remember that you need to complete and submit all the requirements on or before June 30, 2009.
