Wells Fargo and UNCF Scholarship Program

African American or African American heritage college students who are in their sophomore or junior year or first year MBA may apply to another Wells Fargo Scholarship Program that is being administered by the United Negro College Fund.

This scholarship awards up to $2000 one-time scholarship assistance to deserving minority students who are taking up Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Architecture. Students who are taking up Accounting, Business and Finance courses are also encouraged to apply as long as they have at least 2.5 GPA.

Another thing is that applicants need to be residing within California, Minnesota, Indiana, Arizona, Illinois, Ohio, Washington, Oregon, Wisconsin, Michigan, Alaska, Iowa, Texas, Nebraska, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming and enrolled in HBCU affiliated colleges. The deadline for application and the submission of the necessary requirements is until October 31, 2007.

Walden University Offers More Need-Based Scholarship Programs

Walden University, which is one of the most reputable online universities that we have nowadays, offers more need-based scholarship programs for deserving online graduate students.

Aside from its Doctoral Studies Scholarship, they are now expanding their scholarship assistance to online students who are taking up Walden’s master’s programs and post-doctoral program. They now have The Walden University Master’s Studies Scholarship and the Walden University Post-Doctoral Studies Scholarship.

The University Master’s Studies Scholarship is a need-based renewable scholarship that provides $2,000 per award year to qualified scholars who will be taking up Walden online programs such as Master of Public Administration, Master of Public Health, M.S. in Mental Health Counseling, M.S. in Psychology, or M.S. degree in Nursing programs.

On the other hand, the Walden University Post-Doctoral Studies Scholarship will provide $2,000 per award year for new Post-Doctoral Certificate in Psychology students who meet the required financial need criteria. This scholarship is also renewable as long as the scholars maintain their eligibility and the funds are available.

Woman’s World Magazine & eLearners Offer Online Degree Scholarship For Women

The Woman’s World Magazine in partnership with eLearners has an ongoing scholarship contest that is especially created for women who want to continue their college studying though online education. This contest is open for all women who are at least 21 years old and are interested in or are currently enrolled part-time in any accredited online educational institution.

To join, applicants need to submit a maximum of 1500-word essay explaining why a degree is important to them, their career goals and any personal challenges they may be trying to overcome for them to pursue their degree.

The winner will be chosen according to the strength of the written essay as determined by the who is serving as the scholarship committee. The prize at stake for this scholarship contest is $1500. The scholarship form and the essay should be submitted online. The last day of submission is on October 4, 2007at 5:00 P.M. EST.

Wells Fargo 2007 College Scholarship Sweepstakes Program

The Education Financial Division of Wells Fargo Bank is currently running College Scholarship Sweepstakes Program. This can be joined by high school graduates and college students who are currently enrolled or plan to enroll in college before September 2007. Participants should be legal residents of the US excluding Rhode Island, Florida or New York and must be at least 18 years of age.

There is no necessary purchase or any payment requirement in order to join the sweepstakes. Simply submit an entry by writing “Wells Fargo 2007 College Scholarship Sweepstakes” along with the student’s name, address, and telephone number on a 3″ x 5″ card (“Official Card”) and mail it at Wells Fargo Education Financial Services, Attention: Wells Fargo College Scholarship Sweepstakes Program, 301 East 58th Street North, Sioux Falls, SD 57104.

Likewise, students who submitted completed application for any Wells Fargo private student loan between May 8, 2007, and August 21, 2007 through the internet and has been approved for final credit approval before the drawing date receives one automatic Sweepstakes entry. However, the chance of winning will not be affected whether you have been approved in any Wells Fargo Loan.

The prizes for this sweepstakes include one $10,000 scholarship check for the grand prize winner and fifteen $1,000 scholarship checks. All prizes will be payable to the name of student and the name of the school where the students are enrolled.

Target/UNCF Community Leaders Scholarship Program

Target, through the UNCF established a scholarship to provide financial assistance to deserving UNCF students that have unmet financial needs to support their college education. This scholarship program awards $5000 each to eight deserving students. Scholars of this program are called Target Community Leaders.

To be eligible to apply for the Target/UNCF scholarship program, applicants must have a demonstrated commitment for their communities. Applicants should also have at least 3.0 GPA and an undergraduate junior during the application period.

Interested applicants may apply online through the UNCF website and must be able to complete the required documents before October 5, 2007.

Travel is Education Scholarship

The Travel is Education Scholarship Competition offers eight scholarships that are awarded in three categories namely artwork, photography and creative writing. These scholarships are open to those students who are traveling with ACIS within the period of November 1, 2007 to December 31, 2008.

The prizes for each of the three award categories are 1 High School Grand Prize of $1,000 ACIS Travel Scholarship Certificate; 1 High School Runner-Up Prize of $500 ACIS Travel Scholarship Certificate; and 1 Middle School Grand Prize of $400 ACIS Travel Scholarship Certificate.

To join in this contest, send your entry at ACIS through the teacher who is leading your tour. Bear in mind that a student can send only one entry and that all entries must be accompanied by the completed Sponsor Application Form and the Scholarship Entry Form.

The theme for the 2008 scholarship is Travel Changes Lives. All entries will be judged based on creativity and inventiveness in expressing the student’s idea about the theme. The deadline for the 2008 is on January 11, 2008, so be sure that you send your entry before that date.
