Banco Popular and DeVry University has scholarship programs for incoming college freshmen and for adult learners. The usual amount of scholarship they provide is up to $9000 which is distributed to $1000 per semester.
To qualify for this scholarship, students must be living and studying in Florida, New York, New Jersey, Houston TX, or Chicago IL. Likewise, the selected scholars must be willing to study in the Miramar FL, Chicago, IL Houston TX, North Brunswick NJ or Long Island City NY campus of DeVry in their state of residency.
Furthermore, the applicant must also have at least 2.7 GPA and must be able to provide a letter of recommendation from any member of their community. The recommendation letter must state the community service, volunteerism and leadership skills of the student.
The College of St. Scholastica is now offering scholarship opportunity for their transfer students effective the fall term of 2008. The scholarship is known as Benedictine Scholarships which are aimed for all their new transfer students with cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
To qualify for this transfer student scholarship, the students must be enrolled as full-time student on their first undergraduate degree. The student may continue their scholarships as long as they were able to maintain a 2.5 GPA and full-time student status.
The value of Benedictine Scholarships depends on the actual GPA of the students. For example, $7,000 scholarship money will be given per year for students with cumulative GPA of at least 3.5. While students with cumulative GPA of 3.0 to 3.49 will be given $6,000 per year and $5,000 per year are allotted for students with cumulative GPA of 2.5 to 2.99.

Currently, the Iowa State University Department of Music has scholarship programs for music majors in voice, winds, percussion, keyboard, music and non-music majors in strings. Interested applicants should complete the application form prior to actual audition together with at least one recommendation from a music director or music teacher.
