The Air Force Association has a special scholarship for the spouse of Air Force Active Duty, Reserve or National Guard. Each year AFA Spouse Scholarship Program awards a stipend of $ 2500 each for twelve qualified spouses worldwide to pursue or continue any undergraduate or graduate degrees.
But this is limited to spouses who are not members of the AFA. AFA member spouses and ROTC are not eligible for this scholarship. Likewise previous AFA spouse who already received this type of scholarship is no longer qualified to apply.
The $2500 is awarded every June and can be used to pay for education related expenses such as tuition, books, transportation and even the childcare costs that the spouses may incur while they are pursuing their degree.
The spouse must be enrolled with at least 6 credit hours for undergraduate courses and at least 3 credit hours for graduate studies when the scholarship is awarded. The applicant must also have a 3.5 cumulative GPA.
