Engineering and Architecture students who are studying in accredited college within the geographic boundaries of Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, and Mexico may apply for the so-called ASHRAE Region VIII Scholarship.
This scholarship awards a one-year $3,000 scholarship fund to a qualified undergraduate engineering or architecture students from the said region. The scholars use the scholarship beginning the fall semester and he or she may renew the scholarship for the following year if he or she can meet the eligibility criteria.
Qualified Engineering and Architecture students are those with cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 (where 4.0 is the highest) or have a class standing of no less than the top 30% as stated in the student’s Official Transcript or based on certification of the student’s school administrator.
Applicants are also required to submit three letters of recommendation from a faculty professor, a current or past employer or any other significant individual who can provide character reference to the applicant.
