Armstrong Announced 2009 Scholarship Program

As early as this month, children of Armstrong World Industries and its domestic subsidiaries employees who will be entering college in year 2009 should already start filing their application. Armstrong awards $2,000 per scholar per year for up to four years of college undergraduate study or until their bachelor degree requirements have been completed.

The Armstrong scholarship is administered by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), an independent, not-for-profit organization. NMSC will be the one to identify and honor the exceptionally able high school students and the one who will manage the selection of scholars and the administration of their awards.

To participate in the Armstrong scholarship program for the 2009, students must take the qualifying test, the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) this coming October 17 or October 20, 2007. Likewise, the 2009 Armstrong Scholarship Program Entry Form must be filed directly with the Armstrong Foundation before January 31, 2008.

Applications can be downloaded here. Interested applicants may also apply online via the National Merit Scholarship Corporation using their new web-based entry form. For the complete details of scholarship program and its requirements, please click here.
