Write Your Top 10 Craziest Scholarships For A Chance To Win $1000

Check out the “Top Ten List” Scholarship Program from because this is another fun way to win easy $1000 scholarship money for your college education. Personally, I found this stress-free scholarship contest because all you need to do is gather 10 craziest and most unique scholarship you have heard of and organize them into a 250-word essay and submit it online!

It is easy right? And the sponsors will select five winners of $1000 scholarship money so it means that you have bigger chance to be one of the scholarship recipients.  This scholarship contest can be joined by any students who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia.

Mildred Colodny Scholarship for Graduate Study in Historic Preservation

The Mildred Colodny Scholarship Program is intended for individuals preparing who want to pursue careers in historic preservation in the United States. This scholarship is open to students in their final year of undergraduate study intending to enroll in a graduate program in historic preservation such as History, Architecture, American Studies, Urban Planning, Museum Studies, and other related studies with primary emphasis on Historic Preservation.

The amount of funding for this scholarship is up to $15,000 towards graduate school tuition; a $5,000 stipend for a summer internship with the National Trust following the student’s first year of study; and up to $1,500 towards the student’s attendance at a National Preservation Conference.

The selection of scholar will be based both on the student’s financial need and academic performance. Other significant factors for this scholarship include promise shown for future achievement, commitment to working in preservation in the United States following graduation and potential to help increase diversity within the preservation movement.

Only new applicants are encouraged to apply because previous scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply anymore.  Scholarship application is due every 28th of February and winner will be announced by April of the same year.  For any other inquiry, applicant may contact the Colodny Scholarship Coordinator at 800-944-NTHP x 6124.

EPA Marshall Scholarships

EPA Marshall Scholarships aim to help aspiring students from the United States to attain an advance degree in any EPA accredited UK Institution. The scholar must pursue a graduate degree in any of the following field of studies:

Physical, life or systematic sciences
Engineering and technology
Social and behavioral sciences
Urban and regional planning
Communication science

Students whose work emphasizes the study of global environmental problems, international collaborative approaches to environmental problem solving, technology exchange programs or research to improve international dialog regarding the environment are highly preferred. Likewise, applicants must have a grade point average of not less than 3.7 (or A-) on their undergraduate degree and they must not have not have studied or hold a degree or a degree equivalent from any British University.

The chosen scholar will then enjoy two years of free studying in the UK and up to three additional years of study in UK or US. The amount of scholarship fund allotted for the chosen scholar is around £23000 yearly which can be used by the scholar toward tuition fees, books, lodging, living expenses and travel in connection with studies.

Education Matters $5K Scholarship 2009

There is another scholarship contest in a form of essay writing that will give away $5000 scholarship money for the lucky winner. This contest is known as Education Matters $5K Scholarship 2009 wherein students will submit a maximum of 250 word essay about “What would you say to someone who thinks education doesn’t matter, or that college is a waste of time and money?”

The essay will be submitted online along with the student’s name and contact information, background details and academic details. Students can join as long as they are at least 13 years of age at the time of application, legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and of course, currently enrolled or are planning to enroll no later than the fall of 2014 in any accredited post-secondary institution of higher education.

The Education Matters $5K Scholarship 2009 will accept entry until October 31, 2009. Winner will be published by December 15, 2009. The scholarship winner should then submit his or her proof of enrollment to any accredited post-secondary institution of higher education so that the $5000 check payable to the university or college will be released.

2009 Music Products Industry Scholarships

College students who wanted to pursue a career I n music industry may seek financial assistance for their college education through the NAMM Foundation.  This foundation has the so-called NAMM Foundation Music Products Industry Scholarship Program that aims to support students who plan to express commitment and aptitude for business leadership and innovation in the music products industry.

The NAMM Foundation offers tuition scholarships amounting to $2,500 to $5,000 each year that can be used by its scholars to support full-time college students in their college courses. To qualify for this scholarship, students must be enrolled for the Summer or Fall 2009 semester in a university-based music business or music education program.

The applicants should also have an overall 3.0 grade point average as well. The selected scholar will be notified by December 1, 2009, and scholarship fund will be transferred to the student’s college or university to support education-related expenses.  All scholars of NAMM Foundation are required to submit a scholarship impact report of their related progress within 90 days of the end of the funded academic year or no later than September 1, 2010.

Just take not that this scholarship is non-renewable and applicants may only apply once for the same scholarship program. California State Scholarships For California Women

Women who are residing in California may apply for scholarships being offered by The California State Chapter of P.E.O such as the Ruth G. White P.E.O. Scholarship, Ethel O. Gardner P.E.O. Scholarship, and Dorothy L. Weller P.E.O. Scholarship.

The Ruth G. White P.E.O. Scholarship is applicable for female students who are taking graduate degree of study in the field of medicine.  It awards approximately 25 scholarships every year amounting to $3000 each.

The Ethel O. Gardner P.E.O. Scholarship is open to all female students in California who are currently taking up any undergraduate or graduate degree in an accredited college. This scholarship offers 69 awards each year amounting to $500 – $1,500 scholarship money.

On the other hand, the Dorothy L. Weller P.E.O. Scholarship is for female Californian students who studying in the field of law. Eligible applicants are those who are enrolled in an accredited college or university or licensed paralegal school. They are awarding 18 scholarships every year with the amount of $1000 to $1500 each.

All of these scholarships are awarded based on the following criteria:
Integrity of character
Scholastic ability
School or community activities
Financial need

Coca−Cola Scholars Program Application This Coming August

For those students seeking for another possible source of college scholarship, you should try applying to the Coca−Cola Scholars Program. This year’s application for scholarship will open this August 2009 and they will only accept applicants until October 31, 2009; hence, preparing as early as now is recommended.

The Coca−Cola Scholars Program caters for seniors in high schools throughout the United States who need financial assistance for their college education.  Eligible seniors are those carrying at least 3.0 GPA and anticipating a high school diploma at the time of application. Even home schooled students are welcome to apply.

Unlike other scholarship programs, the Coca−Cola Scholars Program only requires essays, official transcripts, and two letters of recommendation when applicants qualify as semi-finalists. Likewise ,this scholarship is not limited for  citizens, nationals of permanent residents of  United States because even students  bearing  status as Temporary Residents, Refugees,  Asylees,  Cuban-Haitian Entrants and Humanitarian Parolees are not discriminated to apply for this scholarship.

Coca-Cola awards a total pf 250 four-year achievement-based scholarships! So, imagine how big your chance is in winning one of the 250 scholarships that you can use for 4 years. The amount of Coca−Cola scholarships is $20,000 each for the 50 students who will be awarded as National Scholars and $10,000 each for the 200 students who will be designated as Regional Scholars.

Future Engineers Scholarship Contest

Full-time engineering students who are in their sophomore and junior years by 2010 and have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average may join the Future Engineers Scholarship Contest.

The Future Engineers Scholarship Contest is provided by Kelly Engineering Resources and they give away one scholarship they award $5,000 scholarship money which can be used by the winning scholar toward eligible expenses for tuition, fees, books, and room and board during the 2010 calendar year.

To join, write an essay about what do you believe will be the most important engineering advance in the next 25 years. You should describe why and be able to detail what you believe will be the resulting benefit to civilization.

The essay must be written or typed in this form and must be between 800 and 1200 words. Aside from the essay, participants should also complete the Candidate Background Information Form and submit two letters of recommendation from either two field-related faculty members from a college or university attended or one faculty member and an individual who has supervised his or her work in a field-related facility.

Scholarship For Industrial Engineering And Technology

Students who are pursuing a degree in mining and mineral engineering or industrial engineering, occupational safety and other related health technology/technician courses are encouraged to apply in Erma Byrd Scholarship Program.

This scholarship program is especially created to assist students taking up the above undergraduate courses in order for them to increase or improve their fundamental skills level and the advanced skills level in the field of industrial health and safety occupations, including mine safety.

Aside from the stated required courses, the applicants for Erma Byrd Scholarship Program should be able to complete their associate’s, bachelors, or graduate degree at any accredited U.S. institution of higher education within two years.

The beauty of this program is its service obligation component that requires scholars to be employed in a career position directly related to industrial health and safety, including mine safety, for a period of one year upon completion of the degree program.
