Mildred Colodny Scholarship for Graduate Study in Historic Preservation

The Mildred Colodny Scholarship Program is intended for individuals preparing who want to pursue careers in historic preservation in the United States. This scholarship is open to students in their final year of undergraduate study intending to enroll in a graduate program in historic preservation such as History, Architecture, American Studies, Urban Planning, Museum Studies, and other related studies with primary emphasis on Historic Preservation.

The amount of funding for this scholarship is up to $15,000 towards graduate school tuition; a $5,000 stipend for a summer internship with the National Trust following the student’s first year of study; and up to $1,500 towards the student’s attendance at a National Preservation Conference.

The selection of scholar will be based both on the student’s financial need and academic performance. Other significant factors for this scholarship include promise shown for future achievement, commitment to working in preservation in the United States following graduation and potential to help increase diversity within the preservation movement.

Only new applicants are encouraged to apply because previous scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply anymore.  Scholarship application is due every 28th of February and winner will be announced by April of the same year.  For any other inquiry, applicant may contact the Colodny Scholarship Coordinator at 800-944-NTHP x 6124.

EPA Marshall Scholarships

EPA Marshall Scholarships aim to help aspiring students from the United States to attain an advance degree in any EPA accredited UK Institution. The scholar must pursue a graduate degree in any of the following field of studies:

Physical, life or systematic sciences
Engineering and technology
Economics
Social and behavioral sciences
Urban and regional planning
Communication science

Students whose work emphasizes the study of global environmental problems, international collaborative approaches to environmental problem solving, technology exchange programs or research to improve international dialog regarding the environment are highly preferred. Likewise, applicants must have a grade point average of not less than 3.7 (or A-) on their undergraduate degree and they must not have not have studied or hold a degree or a degree equivalent from any British University.

The chosen scholar will then enjoy two years of free studying in the UK and up to three additional years of study in UK or US. The amount of scholarship fund allotted for the chosen scholar is around £23000 yearly which can be used by the scholar toward tuition fees, books, lodging, living expenses and travel in connection with studies.

California State Scholarships For California Women

Women who are residing in California may apply for scholarships being offered by The California State Chapter of P.E.O such as the Ruth G. White P.E.O. Scholarship, Ethel O. Gardner P.E.O. Scholarship, and Dorothy L. Weller P.E.O. Scholarship.

The Ruth G. White P.E.O. Scholarship is applicable for female students who are taking graduate degree of study in the field of medicine.  It awards approximately 25 scholarships every year amounting to $3000 each.

The Ethel O. Gardner P.E.O. Scholarship is open to all female students in California who are currently taking up any undergraduate or graduate degree in an accredited college. This scholarship offers 69 awards each year amounting to $500 – $1,500 scholarship money.

On the other hand, the Dorothy L. Weller P.E.O. Scholarship is for female Californian students who studying in the field of law. Eligible applicants are those who are enrolled in an accredited college or university or licensed paralegal school. They are awarding 18 scholarships every year with the amount of $1000 to $1500 each.

All of these scholarships are awarded based on the following criteria:
Integrity of character
Scholastic ability
School or community activities
Financial need

Coca−Cola Scholars Program Application This Coming August

For those students seeking for another possible source of college scholarship, you should try applying to the Coca−Cola Scholars Program. This year’s application for scholarship will open this August 2009 and they will only accept applicants until October 31, 2009; hence, preparing as early as now is recommended.

The Coca−Cola Scholars Program caters for seniors in high schools throughout the United States who need financial assistance for their college education.  Eligible seniors are those carrying at least 3.0 GPA and anticipating a high school diploma at the time of application. Even home schooled students are welcome to apply.

Unlike other scholarship programs, the Coca−Cola Scholars Program only requires essays, official transcripts, and two letters of recommendation when applicants qualify as semi-finalists. Likewise ,this scholarship is not limited for  citizens, nationals of permanent residents of  United States because even students  bearing  status as Temporary Residents, Refugees,  Asylees,  Cuban-Haitian Entrants and Humanitarian Parolees are not discriminated to apply for this scholarship.

Coca-Cola awards a total pf 250 four-year achievement-based scholarships! So, imagine how big your chance is in winning one of the 250 scholarships that you can use for 4 years. The amount of Coca−Cola scholarships is $20,000 each for the 50 students who will be awarded as National Scholars and $10,000 each for the 200 students who will be designated as Regional Scholars.

Scholarship For Industrial Engineering And Technology

Students who are pursuing a degree in mining and mineral engineering or industrial engineering, occupational safety and other related health technology/technician courses are encouraged to apply in Erma Byrd Scholarship Program.

This scholarship program is especially created to assist students taking up the above undergraduate courses in order for them to increase or improve their fundamental skills level and the advanced skills level in the field of industrial health and safety occupations, including mine safety.

Aside from the stated required courses, the applicants for Erma Byrd Scholarship Program should be able to complete their associate’s, bachelors, or graduate degree at any accredited U.S. institution of higher education within two years.

The beauty of this program is its service obligation component that requires scholars to be employed in a career position directly related to industrial health and safety, including mine safety, for a period of one year upon completion of the degree program.

Become A Dell Scholar

It is so easy to apply for a Dell Scholarship because you can start your application right through their website. If you are interested to be a Dell Scholar, the first step you should do is to complete an online application. All submitted online applications will be assessed and from there, a group of Dell Scholar Semi-finalists will be selected.

If you are one of the Semi-finalists, you will now be asked to submit a current copy of your high school transcript, a complete Student Aid Report (SAR) from their FAFSA and an online letter of recommendation. After you submitted the required documents, these will now be reviewed by an independent scholarship selection committee.

The highlights of the Dell scholarship application are largely composed of the following:

Children of Persia Scholarship Program

The Children of Persia Scholarship Program is created to provide financial assistance to college level students in the United States with Iranian descent. The COP aims to help these financially restricted students develop their ability to help themselves and subsequently help others through their success.

In order to qualify for this scholarship program, the Iranian descent students who are studying in the United States must be U.S. citizens or be lawfully residing in the United States. They must be currently enrolled in any accredited American college or university as full-time undergraduates. Students should also demonstrate excellence in their academic performance and has an active participation in community service.

The Children of Persia Scholarship Program usually awards $2,000  scholarship money that be used by the scholars towards any accredited college or university of their choice within the United States to pursue any academic discipline. The scholarship fund can be also used to other school related expenses such as other fees, room, and board.

To apply, simply complete the application form, attach two letters of recommendation (one should be from a school professional), Official Transcript of Records with school seal, and one page essay about the applicant’s dreams and aspirations. Scholarship Opportunity From Arkansas Alumni

If you are a R.E.A.L. Razorback member of University of Arkansas, you may be qualified to apply for the R.E.A.L. Scholarship Program created by the Student Alumni Association of the University of Arkansas. This alumni association offer seven $500 scholarships every year from the two dollars they get from each of their members.

Aside from the current membership status, applicant for this scholarship must have be a full-time student with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Likewise, the applicant must indicate a financial need and should write a two page, double-spaced essay reflecting his or her thought on the following:

* Why you think you need and deserve this scholarship.
* Your involvement on campus and/or the community.
* How you can ‘give back’ to the UA community upon graduation.

Essay should be saved in Microsoft Word, Adobe PDF or Rich Text (WordPad). Then, log-in to begin the application process. Deadline for application is this coming Friday, April 17, 2009 at 5:00 pm. Scholarship recipients will immediately announce in spring 2009. The scholarship fund will be awarded in the students in the amount of $250 each for two semesters.

The NSHMBA Scholarship Program For Hispanic Heritage

There is an ongoing scholarship program from the NSHMBA which is specifically designed to all citizens or or legal permanent residents of United States with Hispanic heritage. Qualified applicants are those students who are enrolled or planning to enroll in a Master’s Degree program in Management or Business at any college or university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico. The college or university must be duly accreditted by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)

The minimum grade requirement for this scholarship is 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale or 2.75 on a 4.0 scale if the applicant has a at least two years of full-time work experience. And because this program is sponsored by National Society of Hispanic MBAs, it is also required that applicants must be current NSHMBA members; if not, they should join NSHMBA during their period of application.

The awards of this scholarship are a combination of scholarship funds and travel reimbursement for attending the NSHMBA Annual Conference & Career Expo. The amount of scholarships range from $5,000 to $10,000 for full time study and $2,500 scholarship fund for part-time study.

Graduate Scholarship For Library Studies

The Palm Beach County Library Association is offering a scholarship opportunity for students who would like to pursue advance degree in librarianship such as Masters degree or Ph.D. degree or for post-MLS study. The chosen scholar will receive a $1000 scholarship that can be used in ALA accredited school of library or information science.

To be eligible to apply for this graduate scholarship, applicant needs to be a member of Beach County Library Association (and pay the $10 membership fee annually). Likewise, the applicant must submit an essay reflecting her or his thought about “How Libraries Can Prepare for Changing Economic Conditions.” The essay must be around 700-word typed in double space using an 11 pt. font with end or foot noting.

Interested applicants are also required to submit a letter of reference from a librarian or information professional and a copy of the acceptance letter from the school they are attending.
