The Resolve To Evolve Essay Scholarship Contest is composed of three parts. The first part is where students will choose one topic that they would like to write about. For the year 2008 contest, the essay question or topic is the following:

Question #1 No Child Left Behind? Has the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 been successful in fulfilling its purpose? Why or why not?

Question #2 Higher Education at a Higher Cost. How has the rising cost of a college education affected students and families? What can the government do to offset any adverse effects or related financial pressures?

The second part of the contest entails the students to provide a brief essay or write-up that reflect why attending college is important to them and a short summary of their academic and career goals. The third part is letter of reference written by your teacher, adviser or parent and any adult relative that knows your character, capabilities and your potential as a possible scholarship recipient.

Seven students will be selected as winners of this scholarship essay. The first prize winner will receive $3,000; $2,000 for the second prize winner and there will be five runner-up winners who will receive $1,000 each.

The essay submission will start on December 1, 2007 and will end on March 31, 2008. All entries must be postmarked between these dates to be able to qualify. Winners will be announced on June 30, 2008 and awarding will be on July 31, 2008.

Sallie Mae’s Parent Answer $10,000 Scholarship Sweepstakes

Sallie Mae has a $10,000 Scholarship Sweepstakes for Parents who have undergraduate college students attending a Title IV school for the academic year 2008-2009 and born on January 1, 1983 or later. This is Sallie Mae’s way of helping parents in raising fund for their children wherein the sweepstakes prize can use by the parent to pay for his or her child’s college tuition and/or other college related expenses

To easiest way to join the $10000 Sweepstakes to complete the online registration form with the parent’s name, address, home telephone number, and valid email address and in agreement to receive Sallie Mae’s Parent Answer e-Newsletter without opting out at any time before the sweepstakes drawing.

College Answer’s Monthly $1000 Scholarship Giveaway

College Answer is giving away a$1000 Scholarship by joining their sweepstakes. This is open to all students who are at least 13 years of age. All you need to do is to complete the online registration form.

You may also join the $1000 monthly scholarship sweepstakes by mailing a postcard with your name, address, e-mail address, grade level, and telephone number and indicate the phrase “College Answer Sweepstakes”. Just remember that only one entry per student is allowed for this sweepstakes and participants can only win once. Winners will be selected by random drawing from all eligible entries received which will be held every month.

Hardship College Scholarship

By just sharing a story about the hard time you faced and how you turned this difficult time into opportunity, incoming or current college students could already apply for the Cappex Hardship College Scholarship.

And because this is a scholarship from Cappex who is known of offering scholastic opportunities even for students who are not academically excellent, any student with at least 2.0 GPA that can submit their own story is eligible to apply. Winner of this scholarship contest will receive $2000 scholarship money.

College Blogger Could Win $10K Scholarship

The deadline for the $10000 scholarship contest for college bloggers is set this coming October 6, 2007. So if you have blogs or you have friends or relatives that are currently enrolled in any college or university, asked them to join this simple contest that could possibly give them a whopping $10000 scholarship money.

You could also surprise a friend who blog by nominating him or her! Just remember that eligible blog entries are only from US citizen college students that contain unique and interesting information about the blog owner.

The contest organizers will select ten finalists who will be subjected for public votes starting October 8, 2007. The college blogger with most number of votes will be declared as winner of the $10000 scholarship on October 28, 2007.

Another Scholarship Program For Those With 2.0 GPA

Cappex just announced another scholarship program that is open for all high school students with al least 2.0 GPA! This program is called the Cappex Promoter Scholarship that will award one $2000 scholarship to the winning high school student and one $1000 scholarship for the winner’s friend that signed up through him/her.

To join, simply fill out a Cappex profile here, select the scholarship from the scholarships tab and follow the stated directions. After this, Cappex will then send you email on how to validate your email address.

Just remember that the Cappex Promoter Scholarship is available for currently enrolled high school students only. You and your friend can sign in until the end of January 2008.

Wells Fargo and UNCF Scholarship Program

African American or African American heritage college students who are in their sophomore or junior year or first year MBA may apply to another Wells Fargo Scholarship Program that is being administered by the United Negro College Fund.

This scholarship awards up to $2000 one-time scholarship assistance to deserving minority students who are taking up Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Architecture. Students who are taking up Accounting, Business and Finance courses are also encouraged to apply as long as they have at least 2.5 GPA.

Another thing is that applicants need to be residing within California, Minnesota, Indiana, Arizona, Illinois, Ohio, Washington, Oregon, Wisconsin, Michigan, Alaska, Iowa, Texas, Nebraska, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming and enrolled in HBCU affiliated colleges. The deadline for application and the submission of the necessary requirements is until October 31, 2007.

GPA Isn’t Everything Scholarship

Students who find it hard to apply for scholarship because of their not-so impressive GPA will surely be pleased to hear about the scholarship program from Cappex. This is because students with 2.0 GPA now a chance to apply for GPA Isn’t Everything Scholarship and win one $2000 scholarship money that the company will be giving away for the most deserving student even if his/her GPA is just 2.0.

To apply for the scholarship, the students just need to register for free in the Cappex website and create a profile on the website. There will be no essay requirement for this scholarship program so applying is definitely easy.
