Hilton Hotels To Give $3M Scholarship Grant

The Hilton Hotels Corporation announced last month that they are giving a total of $3 million scholarship fund over the next 15 years for high school students in Baltimore who will pursue hotel management and hospitality careers. The first donation will be given after the opening of the 757-room Hilton convention center hotel on August 2008.

The said announcement was made during the news conference at the National Academy Foundation High School in Federal Hill. This scholarship aims to address the workforce shortage in the hospitality industry in Baltimore as well as to prepare students for careers in these fields by provide training opportunities.

This scholarship program by Hilton Hotels Corporation will be administered by the College Bound Foundation. Graduates of the National Academy Foundation High School will be on the top priority list for this scholarship as well as those senior high school students from city public high schools.
