MLK Essay Scholarship Contest
The MLK Essay Scholarship Contest is offered by the Clarksville Area Ministerial Association and for this year, they are proud to announce that they will be offering three academic scholarships for the year 2009 – 2010 (two from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. scholarships and one from Dr. William H. Corley scholarship). The scholarship award for this year is worth five hundred dollars.
To join in this contest, applicants must be in their high school senior year and should be accepted by a college or university. Students must submit an essay about “Dr. King’s Dream For America” in order to join. The length of essay should be three pages long and the essay submitted should be original because any form of plagiarism will be automatically disqualified.
Winners for this scholarship will be based on the merit the essay submitted particularly on the participant’s ability to express his or her understanding about Dr. King’s ideas and principles and connect these with today’s ever changing world. The essay should be mailed at Clarksville Area Ministerial Assn, 731 Windermere Dr, Clarksville, TN on or before April 30, 2009.
