Platt Family Scholarship Essay Contest
The Platt Family Scholarship Essay Contest is open for all full-time college students that are enrolled in the spring 2007 semester in any American university or college. The contest can be joined regardless of the student’s nationality or cultural race as long as he or she is a full-time student in the United States.
This scholarship contest awards $1000, $500 and $250 for the first, second and third place winners respectively. Students who wish to join do not need to fill-up any application form. Their application will be the 1500 to 5000 word essay together with their name, the name of their college or university, their home address and email address.
The topic for the 2007 Scholarship Essay Contest is “Abraham Lincoln — Lawyer in the White House:
How did Lincoln’s study and practice of law prepare him for the challenges he would face during his Presidency?” The essay should be type-written, includes a works-cited page or bibliography and should be send via regular mail at Don McCue, Curator — Lincoln Memorial Shrine, 125 W. Vine St. Redlands, CA 92373 before July 31 2007.
