Sallie Mae Fund Scholarships is a charitable institution that offers several kinds of scholarship programs. Sallie Mae is also known as benefactor of other institutions that offers college scholarship programs such as the Hispanic College Fund.

One significant characteristic of scholarships from Sallie Mae is that all of them are based on the financial needs of the students. Meaning, you don’t need to be an excellent student in order to obtain a scholarship from Sallie Mae.

To date, Sallie Mae Fund already awarded $10 million worth of scholarships that benefited around 4000 students to finance their college education.  The scholarship applications for the 2007-2008 school year is usually become available by mid-January.
