Scholarship Opportunity For Students With Learning Disabilities

The Anne Ford and Allegra Ford Scholarship provide an opportunity for students with documented learning disabilities (LD) to pursue their dream of completing a college degree by awarding two $10,000 scholarships.

To be qualified to apply for this scholarship, the applicants must be high school seniors who have faced the challenges of having learning disability but still committed to pursue a college degree. They must have overall grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 and demonstrated financial need.

It is very important for the applicant to provide his or her most current documentation of an identified learning disability and to express how LD affects his/her life, and recognizes the importance of self-advocacy.

The application form can be downloaded here.  All requirements such as completed application form, transcript of records, 3 recommendation letter, documentation of learning disability and essay should be submitted together in one packet on or before December 31, 2009.

The Anne Ford and Allegra Ford Scholarship awardees will receive the $10,000 scholarship award in four yearly installments of $2,500. Scholars must submit proof of their course registration to receive their first $2500. To continue receiving $2500 yearly, scholars must provide proof of course registration and documentation of passing grades for each subsequent semester.
