Sycamore Service Scholarships
The Indiana State University, together with Lt. Governor Becky Skillman and the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs announced the Sycamore Service Scholarships. This is a new program that aims to recognize high schools that express dedication to community engagement and to reward students from these high schools who practice service learning.
The Sycamore Service Scholarships will award $1,000 per year to select graduating seniors from different nine high schools. These scholarships can be renewed by chosen scholars for up to four years. The Sycamore Service will also award $1000 to one high school that will be chosen to be the recipient of the top school award.
To be eligible for the Sycamore Community Leadership Awards and Scholarships, the high schools, their faculty and their students must have demonstrated exemplary service to their local communities and other geographic areas between June 2006 and May 2007.
