The Rising Star Program Of Dallas Community College District

The Dallas Community College District has a special financial assistance program called the Rising Star Program. This program caters for qualified high school graduates with academic support services and awards up to $4000 assistance for tuition and books.

Qualified applicants are those who graduated or will graduate from an eligible Dallas County public high school. Applicant should also belong to the top 40% of their graduating class or graduated with a “B” or “80” average and pass the required DCCCD assessment test to enter any of the seven colleges.

The Rising Star Program just like any other need-based scholarships requires the applicants to apply and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students may apply anytime within the 12-month period after their high school graduation date. The deadline for Fall 2007  is on July 1, 2007.
