Virginia Smile Scholarship For Students Born With A Cleft

The Virginia Smile, a non-profit organization that is devoted to help families in Virginia who are touched by cleft lip and/or cleft palate children has an annual scholarship program for college-bound students who were born with a cleft.

The Virginia Smile Scholarship Program awards $1000 scholarship money. To be qualified for this program, the student born with cleft must be a resident in Virginia and must submit a 500-word essay that answers: “
Why do you deserve to be awarded the Virginia Smiles College Scholarship”.

The scholarship recepient must attend the Virginia Smiles Annual Family Picnic to receive the $1000 award and he/she should prepare a short acceptance speech and gives an inspirational talk to other families of children born with a cleft.
