Scholarship Advice

We Beat the Street Scholarship Contest is an essay writing competition that awards $1,500 scholarship. This is open to all high senior students around the United States. You do not need to purchase anything from the company to join in this contest. All you need is to submit a type written or computerized 1000 to 1500 word essay about your personal experiences in overcoming adversity in order to reach their goals. The essay must be true and should reflect your actual life experiences as a student.

The essay together with your name; address; telephone number; your grade level; and the name, address and telephone number of your current school must be send to Penguin Young Readers Group, 345 Hudson St., New York, NY 10014 before April 15, 2007.

Winner will be selected based on the essay content (75%) and writing (25%). Another two winners will be awarded $500 each aside form the grand prize winner of $1500. The scholarship money will be directly paid to the student’s college/ university or vocational school of choice.
